Mom Spreads Sweet Optimism

Delicious Chocolate Roses are Available for Valentine's Day at Simply Gourmet Fundraising

Caren Dawkins countless hours working with parent and teachers organizations has long helped sweeten the lives of families in her community. She made attending PTA meetings a priority. As a concerned mother who raised a special needs child, she knows all too well about the need to have financially viable children’s organizations.

Now she makes it her business to help parent and educational organizations get a sweeter taste of success. The optimistic Dawkins is taking the leap of faith into online business with a tastefully developed fundraising website entitled www.SimplyGourmetFundraising.com.

The obvious recurring theme in Caren's life is patience and optimism. When she was encouraged to place her son, a child with special needs, in an institution instead of nurturing him with her love, she chooses to do the latter and has no regrets.

There is no mistaking that Caren Dawkins' optimistic approach to life is inspirational. "I thank God, that I was young and had the energy to be a positive, motivating force in my son's life."

Dawkins is referring to the challenges she faced raising her son who was born with Down's syndrome. Working nights gave her the opportunity to be with her son during the day, taking him to various therapeutic programs and actively participating in school organizations like the PTA.

It was her involvement with the PTA which allowed Dawkins to see the profit potential in providing fundraising products to schools, sports teams and other organizations. Ms. Dawkins offers high quality gourmet treats as fundraisers for childrens and educational organizations.

She also features sugar free delights and delicious products for important holidays like Valentine's Day, Easter, Chanukah, and Christmas. Take advantage of her tasty selections and treat someone special in your life at: Simply Gourmet Fundraising Products

Finally Comprehensive Help for Children with ADHD in New York

Do you have a hard time getting your child to focus and accomplish tasks? Do they seem to be hyperactive? Your child may suffer from a condition known as ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).

I am not an expert on this but can refer you to the site of one of the leading coaches and parent trainers on ADHD Ms. Elaine Lerner. Ms. Lerner's site www.ADHDparentTrainer.com gives the following characteristics that describe symtoms of ADHD:

  • Impulse Control or Inhibition
  • Difficulty Sustaining Attention
  • Excessive Activity
  • Difficulty Following Rules and Instructions
  • Excessive Variability in their Responses to Situations

This is a condition more pronounced in boys but girls also are challenged by it. It is a condition that can hold your child back in school.

Some children with other challenges such as autism can also exhibit ADHD type traits. It is estimated that ADHD affects 8 to 10% of people in the US (over 20 million people).

People who have children with special needs and in special education have a wide range of problems when dealing with issues like ADHD, ADD, or Autism. Not only in how to manage the behavior but profound family and even legal issues as well.

Getting the right help, support, and expertise when treating ADHD or similar traits in children is not easy. But now for parents in New York state there is comprehensive help.

You may be a parent of a child and notices similar types of traits or characteristics in your child. Insights from Elaine's work and over 20 year experience with ADHD have been invaluable in helping me manage and better understand my daughter's ADHD type behavior (she is catergorized as being on the autism spectrum).

What is even more noteworthy is that Elaine's ADHD Parent Training is the most comprehensive I have ever seen in terms of covering a wide range of issues related to families with special needs children. She not only covers child management issues but also things like inter-family relations and even education and legal issues.

Parents in New York state can now sign up for Parent Training to manage ADHD at...

New Year...Be Happy!!

That's right... be happy! No matter how its been this past year, NOT being happy with what 'good things' that occurred or good things you do have, or good period would be a mistake. Why? Because "it can ALWAYS be worse."

Think about it, if you were to focus in on those things that did not go as you would have liked, as with anybody, you would be miserable. However, focus in on those things you DO have, those folks that DO care about you and events that DID go your way, indeed you can feel good. For if you were to remove THOSE good things from the equation, it could be bad.

So...yeah, be happy and, have a Happy New Year!!

Unless you were born yesterday, you know times are NOT like they used to be in the 'good ole USA.' Lets buckle down and handle our personal business.

As the future seems uncertain, with gas prices rising, home values droping and many strapped for capital, it is important to become 'very' proactive with regard to our personal finances. Don't put yourself in a place where your unprepared for any more surprises.
